MARY MOSTYN RIP

It is with profound sadness that we share the news of the passing of our former coach and official Mary Mostyn. Mary passed away after a long and hard fought battle with illness late on Wednesday evening surrounded by the family she loved so much.

Mary was an integral part of the club from more than 20 years as a coach, parent, athlete and official and indeed, the entire Mostyn family from Brian through Linda, Denise and Colin all competed with distinction for the club, Linda one of our members to have worn the Green vest of Ireland in competition.

Her contribution to the success of the club cannot be overstated and literally hundreds of children from Carrick-on-Shannon and the surrounding areas passed through her care over the years.

It was not just our club that benefitted from Mary's voluntary work as she was also heavily involved in Leitrim Community Games, serving as County Secretary for a number of years, while she was also the Leitrim organiser of the People In Need Telethon during the nineties. In recent years, Mary was one of the driving forces in the Carrick Trad Group and her loss will be keenly felt by that group.

To Mary's husband Brian, her children Linda, Denise & Colin, her grandchildren, sons and daughter-in-law and her many, many friends, we offer our deepest condolences. May Mary Rest In Peace
